What is The Family Advisory Council?
The Family Advisory Council is created and directed by family members for the
purpose of ensuring family voice, establishing community partnerships, and providing
information and support to children and families.
MISSION STATEMENT:
As a collective family voice, we advise and collaborate with community partners to build a family driven system of care for children and youth with social/emotional or mental health needs, and their families!
How do we do this:
We advise Wraparound Oregon and it’s committees. We advocate for family
voice at every level:
- Policy
- Planning
- Service delivery
- Evaluation
We partner for systems change with others interested in developing an improved system of care. Our vision is that families are equal partners in the system of care and participate in the decision making:
- As participants on teams
- As employees within the system
- At the policy level
What to expect as a Family Advisory Council Member:
- Attend one meeting a month for 2 hours
- Participate on committees that interest you
- Attend training opportunities
- Gain leadership skills
- Make valuable contributions to the Wraparound community
- Receive support and strength from families who share the same experience
- HAVE FUN!
